TRANSIENCE
VR Project. A collaboration with Connecting Space Hong Kong
Transience (2017)
The World is turning in its own accord. You are forced to “recognise” patterns that may or may not be predetermined. These patterns, routines, cycles and chance meeting. Or are you able to appreciate that in fact, nothing is happening?
In TRANSIENCE, you are confronted with couple questions and emotions: a physical question that may or may not be directed to you; emotions arise from the acknowledgement of time passing; confusion about the patterns that may or may not have a meaning.
This is your mind at work.

Rules:
The protagonist, sitting down facing the viewers, keeps asking a seemingly absurd question: “when did he go?” throughout the whole film.
Other performers are assigned a route which they have to repeat within a 5-minute timeframe.
Each of the “routes” are carefully designed so that they fulfil a specific number of “repeats” during the film.
The performers interact and react to each other should their paths collide.
All of the performers carries a unique “sound-emitting object” so that their travels are not only physical but also aural.
