音符拷問靈魂，一趟拆解重組孤寂的旅程
A vast exercise of shared solitude/ loneliness.

身處現今超連結的世界中，人們往往渴望親密與聯繫，試圖在藝術、音樂和文學中尋求慰藉。然而，我們所表達的即使多麼坦露，卻永遠有所隱藏。這種從孤獨中流露自我表達的欲望，在蕭邦筆下化成一首又一首夜曲。婉柔深沉的旋律最初於別廳奏起，在如此讓人沉思和放鬆的空間，樂曲就似區分了主觀經驗與客觀現實。我們在社交媒體的自我抒發，何嘗不是在演奏一首首夜曲，渴望尋找聆聽者？然而，問題依舊如故：我們如何才能真正被理解？我們所扮演的角色有多大程度上掩蓋了真我？

趙朗天與吳子昆創作的視聽演出《獨奏曲》試圖開闢一個空間，讓藝術家與觀眾一同經驗種種難以言喻的情感。在這趟往內探索的旅程，我們會發現，真正把人心連繫起來的東西其實溢於言表，藏於內在世界的呼應與共鳴，既幽微私密，同時卻渴望主體間相互理解。而《獨奏曲》正是在追尋群體連結中保留自我流動時，徘徊於孤獨和獨處之間的一瞬。

In today's hyper-connected world, we seek solace in art, music, and literature that soothe our yearnings for intimacy and connections, yet our expressions often mask as much as they reveal. Chopin composed numerous nocturnes to capture our yearning for self-expression amidst isolation. They were first performed in withdrawal rooms, intimate spaces designed for contemplation and relaxation. Within this refined space, the compositions illuminated the beauty of inwardness that distinguishes subjective experience from objective reality. Similar to nocturnes, our social media expressions crave an audience, yet the question remains: how well are we truly understood? To what extent do our personas obscure the self?

with/drawing rooms,  an audiovisual performance by Alain Chiu and Ng Tsz-Kwan, is a journey through indescribable feelings that the artist and audience share. It reveals that what truly unites us transcends linguistic expressions, lying in the mutual acknowledgement of inner worlds that remain, inexplicably, private yet yearning for intersubjective understanding. with/drawing rooms becomes an exercise in inhabiting the fluidity of selfhood amidst a desire for community, the transitory space between loneliness and solitude.
